The Shining Aeon

Okay, guys, so, it’s been a while–I have a new computer set up, and everything. Don’t worry, I’m NOT dead. However, I am going to put the comic on hiatus–again. This is because of my deep unhappiness with the current level of my artwork, and for some reason I just don’t feel that I’m getting the right excitement I usually do when I work on an a story I feel good about–there’s something too robotic about how I’m making the strips. So, I’m going to be taking a break to really ground out all my characters and work on a solidified art style. Once I feel happy with where I’m at, I’ll begin updating again.

More delays. My computer is completely fried–I’m posting this from another computer. It’s about time, though–it was 6 years old. I ordered a shiny new computer which should be coming around the 11th or 12th of this month. No guarantee on updates anymore. Sorry.

Been really busy lately, but I’ve finished drawing about half of the next strip. The way things are looking, I’m going to have to color it with a mouse. Ugh.

I’m back. I had a terrific, terrific time, but I did not get anything done. In terms of the comic or schoolwork, that is. And I have absolutely nothing done–but I’ll probably do the pencil and inks for the next comic today. Tablet still broken.

Delays!

Would you believe I’m going out of town? AGAIN? That means more delays on the comic. AGAIN. I swear, when the summer comes…

That actually didn’t take too long, considering that I was using a mouse–only two days behind the prospected delivery time! Not bad, not bad at all. In total, the comic took about maybe 8-10 hours, divided amongst many many days (I have been very busy). Speed should pick up from there! This is good.

I don’t know if anyone knows to click on the News, but I suppose that doesn’t matter. All the buttons on the site work (they have for a while, but I’ve only just now remembered to tell you that), and I’m creating a theme from scratch for this news page, which could take a while. The other one looked O.K., but it had some problems. I’m also going to see if I can’t figure out a way to get the news to feed into the main page, otherwise nobody would ever catch it.

As for the comic–yep, there’s definitely something wrong with my tablet. What on earth am I supposed to do with an unopenable rectangular piece of plastic that won’t work? I’m using my mouse now, but it’s very discouraging. The next strip will likely not be up for a while.

I seem to have the best luck, don’t I? I came home and I realized, plugging in my tablet, that it does not work. I don’t know why this is. It just seems to have suddenly decided to stop working. Maybe my cats did something. In the mean time, I’m back to mouse shading again… Definitely no guarantees on an update tomorrow.

Not that I’m on time anyway, and not that anybody reads this, but I’m going to be away for a couple of days, and am unlikely to get the next strip up for a good time (maybe until around the 17th?).

The site’s coming along nicely. The Art section is finally up–now only the Fun section gives you a 500 error, thankfully. Pretty soon the very first strip will go up, and that’s when the update schedule kicks in and I have to start producing weekly comics. Huzzah!
